My basic hourly rate is $40, billed in fifteen-minute increments. To come to you there is an additional fee of $15, or $25 if you are over the grade. This is a fixed charge, though my hourly rate won't kick in if I can't fix what's wrong. If I have to take your machine with me to work on it then I would only charge my travel fee once ($15 or $25).

I can also provide remote support if you live over the grade and would like the travel fee waived.

Parts are extra, and I can give you a estimate of what kind of charges you are looking at for parts should something need to be replaced or upgraded. RAM typically runs around $25, optical drives $35, hard drives usually start at around $100. Keep in mind those are very ballpark prices...if you computer is very old or very new hardware can sometimes cost more.

I can also do a limited amount of work on older Macs and laptops.

Tutoring is $25 an hour plus applicable travel fee.

My website rates can be found here.

The OTHER guys' standard rates...

Wireless setup $130 (not including hardware) $150 (not including hardware) $45
Virus/spyware removal Huh? $200 in store $50 - 100

Ouch! Those guys have some scary pricing even in a good economy! I will always explain your options in plain English and point out any cost-effective paths worth considering with any repair work or upgrading I do. I do not ever try to "upsell" my clients anything they don't need. Lastly--and perhaps most importantly--I always go the extra mile, whether it's noticing a lot of dust buildup in your case and giving it a good cleaning or informing you of things that could become future headaches...my goal is to make your life easier, not poorer.
